Description

• Spring Blooms: One of the first signs of spring, serviceberries erupt in clusters of white, feathery flowers. The petals are narrow and delicate, often appearing just before or as the leaves begin to unfurl.

• The Berries: By June (hence the nickname “Juneberry”), the tree produces small, round pomes. They transition from green to bright red, finally ripening into a deep purplish-black. They look remarkably like blueberries and have a sweet, almond-like flavor.

• Foliage and Form: The leaves are oval with finely serrated edges. In the summer, they are a soft green, but they turn brilliant shades of orange, gold, and crimson in the fall.
